Description:

Export control classification can raise practical questions: Where do you begin? What information do you need? And how does the approach differ between the US, EU, and UK?

Join international trade compliance expert John Whitworth, who brings over 15 years of experience, for an interactive discussion that brings classification to life through a practical case study.

We will introduce the differences in approach between the US Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the EU/UK. Together, we’ll explore the basic approach to classification, highlight differences between jurisdictions, and discuss key considerations when assessing an item.

The session will offer practical takeaways to help inform your own classification work.

Bring your toughest questions on anything related to anything you ever wanted to know about export control classification. John will do his best to work through the answers with the group.
