Member of the Paris Bar, Nicolas Burnichon is an associate at Hughes Hubbard’s Paris office and a member of the firm’s Sanctions, Export Controls & Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Corruption & Internal Investigations practices.

Nicolas has developed specific expertise in EU and U.S. sanctions and export controls, which he shares with clients in particular when creating and deploying compliance programs tailored to the type and size of their business, conducting investigations, and audits, as well as interacting with the relevant government authorities.

His expertise has also led him to advise national and international companies active in various sectors, such as energy, insurance, finance, retail and crypto-currency, on corruption and money laundering issues, which enables him to have a transversal and pragmatic overview of all aspects of compliance issues.

Prior to joining Hughes Hubbard & Reed, Nicolas worked for three years at a major French bank in Paris and New York, dealing with U.S. and EU sanctions issues. He also worked in French and Anglo-Saxon law firms where he assisted financial institutions and international groups on compliance and M&A matters.

Vincent Gaudel works as a financial crime compliance expert for LexisNexis® Risk Solutions. His responsibilities include maintaining a deep understanding of worldwide regulatory trends to help guide the company’s product development and functionality growth while supporting client expansions.

With more than 10 years of experience in compliance functions, Gaudel provides exceptional expertise in sanctions compliance, anti-money laundering and countering financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) regulations. His comprehensive regulatory analysis have successfully enabled the sales engineering process and sanctions data teams.

Gaudel frequently speaks at international and regional financial crime conferences, delivering thought leadership content and regulatory insights in events organized by ACAMS, ACFCS, ACSS among others.

Gaudel is the author of the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Sanctions Pulse, a recurring in-depth evaluation of the global sanctions landscape. He is certified by ACAMS as a Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS) and holds master’s degrees in international and European relations from Linköping University, Sweden and international business from INSEEC, France.

If you are an ACSS Member, Chapter Membership is included as one of your many benefits! Just check the Chapter page and sign up to the Chapter in your location.

What if there is no Chapter in my location?
