You’ll start with the basics

Your education begins with learning the basics of UK sanctions and progressing to reading assignments in preparation for one of two 90-minute online, interactive classes.

You’ll get a thorough grounding

The first class gives you a thorough grounding in UK policy from enactment to administration, discussing Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 (SAMLA), OFSI, and other agencies. The second class discusses recognizing sanctions risks, due diligence, screening, reporting a breach to OFSI, and other topics, all guiding you in creating your own sanctions compliance program.

You’ll develop your understanding

We’ll elaborate on UK guidance, talk about the consequences of non-compliance, and cover the topics that you must know. You will experience Q&A sessions, student polls, and practice questions prepared so that you understand all aspects of UK compliance before your one-hour exam of multiple-choice questions.

Only part of what you will know by the end of the course…

  • What is the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) and its mission?
  • What are the other relevant UK agencies?
  • The different kinds of sanctions.
  • All about the UK sanctions lists.
  • Who must comply?
  • Penalties and fines.
  • Risk assessment.
  • Due diligence.
  • Walking tour of OFSI Online: where to find the information you need.

Testimonials

“I found the UK Sanctions course to be really detailed and engaging throughout. The speakers were extremely knowledgeable and covered topics that might not normally be known widely by sanctions professionals. Using real world examples and case studies, the course helped to contextualise what I was learning and seeing how to apply the knowledge in my role.”
