Jenna Glass
Managing Director
Export Controls & Sanctions
Jenna is a Managing Director in KPMG’s Trade and Customs Practice, based in Chicago, IL. She has over 18 years of experience in international trade compliance and supply chain operations. For the past 12+ years, she has focused predominantly on export controls and sanctions. She has substantial in-house experience at a renowned retail company as well as a notable U.S. technology company, where she managed a global team and was responsible for operational oversight in conjunction with developing export control-related strategies, and promulgating export control policies and procedures in U.S., EU, and APAC.
Her most recent experience was serving as a Sr. Advisor at an international trade law firm, where she counseled clients exclusively on export controls and sanctions matters.
Jenna regularly speaks on trade-related topics and organizing regional and national conferences.
Jenna advises clients on export controls and sanctions related requirements, including those in the technology, semiconductor, manufacturing, automotive, biotechnology, computing, among many others.
Jenna’s experience includes:
- Compliance Program Development: Consulting on and implementing compliance programs, managing investigations and enforcement, and producing supporting memorandums.
- Sanctions & Encryption Expertise: Navigating complex sanctions and encryption regulations, supporting clients with compliance, and obtaining favorable classifications.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conducting global risk assessments, identifying gaps, creating controls, and managing compliance audits to mitigate risks. - Export Licensing & Classification: Administering export and deemed export licensing programs, managing high-volume classification projects, and drafting strategic classification rulings.
- Training & Government Engagement: Delivering targeted training, supporting trade automation projects, and engaging with government officials on policy and industry outreach.
She holds a B.A. in International Studies from Colorado State University and a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.
Elizabeth Shingler
Professional and industry experience:
- Elizabeth supports clients in addressing import and export control requirements, including complex customs valuation issues, determining the appropriate controls under the EAR, ITAR and OFAC and identifying company – specific risk areas. Further, she has participated in audits required as part of Department of State Consent Agreements. Examples of Elizabeth’s experience include :
- Conducting global import and export compliance assessments for corporate and non-profit institutions including specific risk identification and mitigation strategies;
- Managing large scale export license applications
- Assessing and mitigating U.S. sanctions risks
- Auditing the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions as part of consent agreements
- Drafting and implementing export compliance procedures including targeted training.

Before joining ACSS, she was a program director at a non-profit organization in the Philippines, where she co-designed and co-implemented economic empowerment programs and services for survivors of human trafficking and their families.
